Last Saturday was a day we will never forget. I didn’t originally plan to have so many things in one day, but it all turned out wonderful.
With a full day ahead of us we had a lot to do to get ready. Troy took on the task of giving Michael a haircut. I guess Troy wanted to spice things up a bit because Michael came running out of the bathroom looking like this.
He thought it was absolutely hilarious.
Grandma, Jen, and Kelly were ready and waiting early so they decided to head up to town to get a gift for Kaylee. As soon as everyone else was ready we headed to the church for sweet little Kaylee’s baptism. Grandma is a lot like Troy in that she is almost never late. So at about 5 minutes till we decided we better call and find out where they were. When Troy got a hold of them he thought they were nearby so he told them they were close and to just keep going that way. Well, it turns out they had past it completely and were about 20 miles the wrong way when it was time to start. Grandma had the opening prayer, Jen had the baptism talk, and Kelly was one of our witnesses. Therefore, we waited for them. But they were worth it. It was absolutely perfect. Both Jenny and Melanie gave awesome talks and the spirit was really strong.
After the baptism we quickly headed to Rachelle’s baby shower. It was a double stuf oreo themed shower because she loves oreos and well she is double stuffed. :) So basically we had an array of oreo desserts and this was the invitation.
Instead of playing the traditional baby shower games we had planned a few crafting projects. We had everyone bring some fabric and with that we made two patch square quilts and we decorated onesies.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get to stay for very long because we had another important event that we had to get to. I did hear that she received some really great gifts. So from there we went to the Temple. Troy, myself, and all three of our kids were able to come participate in and witness this wonderful blessing. Now our entire family is sealed together for time and all eternity. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget and I am so glad that my kids were able to have this experience. I am sure that Kaylee and TJ will always remember this.
It really was an amazing day and I am so grateful for so many family members that traveled so far to be there with us on that day. I know that we have even more love and support from family members that wish they could have been here as well.
